Do Not Taunt the Native Plants
Along the Hermosa Beach greenbelt. The South Bay Parkland Conservancy has been restoring parts of the habitat near the south end of the trail to support monarchs and other endangered butterflies.
Lost Control
Pulled it out of my backpack and saw that it had lost control. Not entirely. It still had some left. Or right, as the case may be.
(Yes, I did eventually find the *ahem* key to restore it.)
TJs Branching Out
Rumor has it that Trader Joe’s urgent care is actually provided by the name brand, just with different packaging.
(Spotted on the way to hiking at Alta Vicente Reserve over the weekend.)

Saw this while out on an errand the other day. Maybe it’s just that I’m reading the latest October Daye book, but anything permanent involving the Winter Rose sounds like a bad idea!
Our Trail is Better With Our Free Ap!
Found a place to hike this morning that was only in the 80s instead of hotter, and was greeted by this sign at the trailhead.
Also: several signs warning about how much poison oak and stinging nettle is in the area, with photos to help you avoid touching them. Update: they really aren’t kidding about the poison oak, but it’s still a nice hike if you keep your hands to yourself.
